Job Board

AP/CP Pathologist

posted: August 23, 2023

GEORGIA, GAINESVILLE (USA). Gainesville Regional Pathology Associates is seeking an AP/CP board certified/eligible pathologist for a full-time partnership track position starting summer-fall 2024. The ideal candidate would have strong surgical pathology skills with subspecialty fellowship training (such as GYN, GI, Cytopathology), preferred but not required. The candidate must be eligible for a valid Georgia medical license. Both graduating pathologists and experienced pathologists are welcome to apply. This is not a sponsored visa site.

We are seeking a strong board-certified/board eligible anatomic and clinical (AP/CP) pathologist to join our growing, hospital based private pathology practice as a full-time partnership track associate. Our practice is currently composed of 7 pathologists and 2 grossing assistants. The hospital system is growing so we are looking to add another full-time physician to the group to help with increasing workload and expanding coverage of the outside facilities. The system currently has four acute care hospitals in the Northeast Georgia area with two additional independent laboratory sites.

Our group is based in Gainesville, Georgia, conveniently located 45 minutes north of Atlanta and 35 minutes south of the gateway to the Appalachian Mountains and Dahlonega, GA, voted in top of Southern Living’s 2023 Best Small Town. The medium-sized city is located along a large lake and is near the mountains, combining a smaller town feel with drivability to larger cities. Gainesville is the county seat of Hall County, with abundant outdoor activities, new music venues, and a thriving historic downtown.

The practice covers general surgical pathology and cytology services in addition to clinical laboratory services. An ideal candidate would have excellent general surgical pathology skills as we rotate coverage for surgical and cytology specimens, frozen sections, adequacy evaluations for radiology/endoscopy and on call duties.

Our group is collegial and supportive. This is a partnership track position. Call and caseload are shared equally. The cases are diverse with biopsies, surgical resections, frozen sections, bone marrows, clinical cases, and Gyn and Non-Gyn cytology (including immediate adequacy evaluations). Currently, we are not performing autopsies or bone marrow procedures.

Candidates should send their cover letter and CV with contact information for three references to:
