Georgia Legislature

The Georgia Legislature has adjourned for the 2022 session, and Senate Bill 525 has been referred to the Georgia Occupational Regulation Review Council (GORRC). GORCC ensures that proposed new licensure requirements are necessary for the safety and well-being of Georgia citizens. As reminder, as currently written, SB 525 requires licensure of Pathologist Assistants and excludes non-licensed personnel (i.e. biopsy techs and others) from grossing specimens. The Council accepts public comment, and the GAP will submit our comments before their next scheduled meeting.
